After a 15 week trial Charles Bott QC and Colin Aylott instructed by Sean Curran of GCR secured the acquittal of James Gilmour on SFO prosecuted Libor manipulation trial 

Mr Gilmour was a yen cash broker employed by Inter- dealer brokers R P Martin. The jury's verdict was unanimous. The investigation into Libor manipulation was the largest ever conducted by the SFO.You can read more about this case in the following links:-

Guardian reports the launch of an IPCC Investigation into the conduct of immigration officers in the trial of R v Ntege and Others

 

In October 2014, the GCR team of Sean Curran (Partner), and barristers    

John Carl Townsend (Leading junior) and Feryal Ertan (Junior counsel) stopped the prosecution of Galina Petkova in the largest sham marriages prosecution ever undertaken in the UK. The trial was halted as an abuse of process following a finding by HHJ Madge that officers had lied on oath. The confirmation of a formal IPCC investigation has been reported below.

GCR ON BBC SIX O ' CLOCK NEWS

 

 

Sean Curran from Guney, Clark & Ryan was interviewed on the BBC 6 O'Clock News on Wednesday 23rd January in relation to the Construction Industry Blacklisting. Sean was interviewd as GCR recently submitted a High Court Claim on behalf of over 75 individuals who's names appeared on the Consulting Association Database. GCR Quoted in the Financial Times

The Financial Times has published an article on blacklisting in the UK
construction industry and the current legal action taken by GCR. The article by

The Sun Cover Legal Action Against Construction Industry Blacklist

The Sun has recently joined the extensive national media coverage in respect
of GCR’s group action against blacklisting within the construction industry.

GCR partner Sean Curran’s involvement in this case began shortly after the
Information Commissioner’s Office uncovered the blacklist in 2009. It has been
as a result of the assistance of the Blacklist Support Group and the hard work
of all involved that this case has now reached an advanced stage.

Sean has instructed Hugh Tomlinson Q.C. of Matrix and barristers Richard
Roberts and JC Townsend.
